The retailers with top score on Best Places to Work for LGBTQ & Equality Index are …
A record-breaking 842 businesses earned the top score of 100% on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index, up from only 13 in its inaugural year (2002).
Fifty-three retail companies (list at end of article) scored 100% on CEI, which is considered the nation's foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. The 2022 CEI included 1,271 participants, up from 319 in its first year.
For the third consecutive year, Meijer was among the retailers earning the top score of 100%.
“This designation recognizes the efforts our teams make every day to uphold one of our core values of treating people with dignity and respect," said Tim Williams, VP, diversity and inclusion, Meijer. "While it's gratifying to see our efforts recognized once again, we're most excited to continue on this journey to ensure our LGBTQ+ customers and team members feel comfortable bringing their authentic selves in our store, distribution and corporate environments."
To earn top ratings, employers took concrete steps to establish and implement comprehensive policies, benefits and practices that ensure greater equity for LGBTQ+ workers and their families.
