REI expanding in Illinois

REI Co-op continues to expand its brick-and-mortar footprint.

The specialty outdoor retailer will open a location in the Village of Orland Park, Illinois, in fall 2021. The 20,000-sq.-ft. store will be REI’s fifth location in Illinois.

In addition to outdoor gear and apparel, the new store will offer such special features as a specialty bike and Nordic ski shop for customers to tune or repair equipment. It will also offer a range of classes and guided outdoor experiences to connect people to a life outdoors. Year-round and seasonal programming will be similar to REI’s offerings at its existing stores in the region. 

REI has 168 stores in 39 states and the District of Columbia.
