Regional grocery wholesaler supports e-commerce for members

Winkler Wholesale Grocers is enabling the retailers it supplies to offer full omnichannel shopping services to their customers.

Winkler is partnering with online grocery service platform ShopHero Inc. to provide online grocery shopping functionality to the 400-plus retailers Winkler supplies. Grocery stores in Missouri, northern Indiana, eastern Ohio, southern Michigan, and northern Illinois will be participating.

Leveraging the ShopHero platform, Winkler will be able to allow independent grocers of all sizes to get online. Retailers will have complete control over their e-commerce sites and the ability to offer curbside pickup and/or delivery on a custom schedule. 

The platform also includes a picking tool that optimizes order picking, alerts shoppers when their order is ready, and tracks deliveries in real-time. Customers can search a store's entire inventory and add items to their cart directly from the search bar.
