  • Togo’s enters Tempe, Ariz., with first restaurant

    Tempe, Ariz. -- Togo's Eateries has opened its first restaurant in Tempe, Ariz., owned by current Togo's franchisees, Monty and Diana Coury, who opened the first Togo's restaurant in Gilbert, Ariz., last year.

    "Since opening our first restaurant in Gilbert, we've seen a tremendous amount of support from the community and there is still a huge potential for growth in the market,” said Monty Coury.

  • Quaker Steak & Lube to develop restaurants in Nebraska and Iowa

    Sharon, Pa. -- Casual-dining brand Quaker Steak & Lube announced an area development agreement with Bosselman Food Services to open two locations in Nebraska and one in Iowa, which will mark the brand's entrance into the state of Nebraska. Bosselman Food Services plans to open one Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant per year in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

    "We look forward to the opening of our first restaurant next year, and are excited for a great future with Quaker Steak & Lube," said Charlie Bosselman, president of the Bosselman Cos.

  • Retail Live! acquires Retailer One on One

    Austin, Texas — A national networking company that brings retailers together at events with industry leading landlords, brokers and developers, Retail Live! recently acquired Orlando, Fla.-based Retailer One on One, expanding the company’s market presence in the Southeast.

    Founded in 2011, Retail Live! has programs in Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and now Orlando.

  • Michael’s signs into Torrington, Conn., center

    New York -- Michael’s has leased a 21,400-sq.-ft. former Circuit City store at the Torrington Fair shopping center in Torrington, Conn.

    Wal-Mart, Price Chopper and Petco anchor the center, which is now 100% leased, although there is an outparcel that may be developed in the future. Charter Realty & Development www.chartweb.com and Lornell Realty made the deal.

  • MinuteClinic opens first New Hampshire locations

    Woonsocket, R.I. -- MinuteClinic, a division of CVS Caremark Corporation, has expanded to its 28th state with the opening of clinic locations inside select CVS/pharmacy stores in New Hampshire. Clinics are now open in Concord and West Lebanon.  

  • Gold’s Gym expands in Southern California

    Montclair, Calif. — Gold’s Gym has announced the opening of a location in the newly remodeled Montclair Plaza in Montclair, Calif. The new location will join 11 existing Gold’s Gym Southern California franchise locations. Slated to open April 1, 2014, the 40,000-sq.-ft. facility will feature GGX group exercise offerings, cardio equipment with iPod docking stations, a steam room, Cardio Cinema, towel service, an indoor pool, Jacuzzi and more.

    Other recent arrivals at Montclair Plaza include Mina Shoes, Fly and Xtreme.

     

  • Nordstrom Rack to open in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

    Seattle -- Nordstrom announced plans to further expand its Los Angeles-area presence with the addition of a Nordstrom Rack at Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

    The approximately 40,000-sq.-ft. store is scheduled to open in fall 2015. The Rack location at Janss Marketplace is a development by Seritage Realty Trust, a division of Sears Holdings Corporation.

    Nordstrom has operated a full-line store approximately one mile from the new Rack location at The Oaks since 2008.
