  • Mansour Group arranges sale of southern California Stein Mart building

    La Quinta, California —The Mansour Group has announced the sale of a 36,000-sq.-ft. Stein Mart building located in La Quinta, California. Sale price was approximately $8 million. 

    The property was sold via Mansour Group by an unnamed developer to a private, all-cash investor out of San Diego.

    The freestanding building is situated in Washington Park, a 600,000-sq.-ft. power and lifestyle center anchored by Lowe’s, Target, Cost Plus, Office Depot, Trader Joe’s with plans for additional construction.

  • SRS Real Estate Partners promotes Laura Tinetti to senior VP

    Dallas — SRS Real Estate Partners has promoted Laura Tinetti to senior VP in the San Francisco office.

    Tinetti joined SRS in 2006 and, in the past eight years, has completed more than 150 retail transactions valued at approximately $300 million.

    Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania —The newly redeveloped MacDade Mall – located at 2600 MacDade Boulevard in Holmes, Pennsylvania – has attracted two new junior anchors: Marshalls, which opened in August 2013, and Ross, which will hold its grand opening this month.

    Sacramento, California — West Coast shopping center owner/operator Pacific Castle has acquired four Sacramento-area properties for approximately $40 million, signaling an ongoing trend to add to the company’s diversified portfolio.

  • Shipping containers recycled as retail spaces at new Assembly Row center, in Boston area

    New York -- Boxman Studios, a leader in shipping container modification, have created a one-of-a-kind dining and retail venue from shipping containers to anchor Assembly Row, a new mixed-use development in Somerville, Massachusetts, which is just outside of Boston.   

    Four modified 20-ft. shipping containers make up SombBlox, an homage to Somerville’s historically industrial past. The four containers create three distinct spaces that are all ADA accessible and include electrical and lighting.

  • Smith’s Food & Drug to anchor Utah mixed-use development

    Salt Lake City - The Howard Hughes Corporation (HHC) and Smith’s Food & Drug are planning a 78,000-sq.-ft.food and drug store in Holladay, Utah. The 57-acre mixed-use Cottonwood development, located eight miles from downtown Salt Lake Cit, will feature upscale shopping, dining, entertainment and offices in a “Town Square” style setting as well as multi-family residences when complete.

  • Report: Carrefour to shutter Indian stores

    Mumbai, India – In a move that may have implications for Wal-Mart, French retailer Carrefour S.A. will reportedly shutter its five Indian wholesale stores by the end of September 2014. According to Reuters, Carrefour is in advanced talks to sell its Indian assets to an unspecified buyer.

  • MarketPlace Development to overhaul LaGuardia stores

    New York - Retail developer MarketPlace Development announced that the food and stores at LaGuardia Airport's Terminal B will receive a major overhaul in 2014. With a new terminal slated to start construction in 2015, the redevelopment will provide upgrades for the existing aging terminal, including new shops and restaurants, enhanced amenities and infrastructure upgrades for HVAC and escalators in the food courts.
