    When Cypress Equities completes its plan for updating the interior and exterior of Lloyd Center, located in the heart of the Lloyd District adjacent to downtown Portland, Oregon, it will have executed a vision for a comprehensive redevelopment of the historic shopping center.

    The circa 1960 mall – the largest of its kind when it opened – will receive the following improvements:

  • Cold Stone Creamery enters Kenya

    Scottsdale, Ariz. - Kahala Brands, the parent company of Cold Stone Creamery, has signed a 10-year master franchise agreement with Om Nom Nom Mauritius Ltd. (ONN Ltd.) in Kenya. There are seven stores slated to open during a five-year period and the first location will be in the capital city of Nairobi, scheduled to open in late September.

    ONN Ltd. will offer luxury products as well as ice cream to Kenyan consumers.

     

  • JLL managing two new shopping centers

    Chicago – Retail experts from professional services and investment management firm JLL are managing two new shopping centers. JLL has been retained by Ashkenazy Acquisition Corp. to manage Beverly Connection, a 348,285-sq.-ft. shopping mall in Los Angeles, and also been retained by 759 Ventures LLC to manage the 58,280-sq.-ft. 2424 North Davidson Street center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

  • Academy Sports to open four Orlando stores in 2015

    Katy, Texas - Academy Sports + Outdoors will open four stores in the Orlando, Florida, area in 2015. The four stores will be located in Kissimmee, Lake Mary, Waterford Lakes and Melbourne.

  • Jamba Juice plans 500 new U.S. stores

    Emeryville, Calif. – Jamba Inc., parent company of the Jamba Juice chain, is launching a new franchise recruiting campaign focused on single-store development in existing and new domestic markets. Jamba is looking to add 500 new domestic stores in the next five years and double year-over-year store development via the new recruiting program.

  • Ridge Hill hosts one-day 3-D printer pop-up

    Yonkers, N.Y. - Westchester’s Ridge Hill shopping center will host a special “pop-up” event with MakerBot showcasing its 3-D printing technology on July 24, from 6-9 p.m.  There will be live demonstrations, jewelry design classes and equipment available for sale at the event.

  • Westchester’s Ridge Hill to offer interactive Dreamworks Santa exhibit

    Brooklyn, N.Y. - Forest City Ratner Companies (FCRC), owner and developer of Westchester’s Ridge Hill, will host DreamPlace, an interactive Santa adventure. DreamWorks Animation has chosen Westchester’s Ridge Hill as one of just seven locations around the country, and the only one in the Northeast during the 2014 holiday season.

  • Dunkin’ Donuts plans new stores in Minnesota

    Canton, Mass. - Dunkin' Donuts has signed a multi-unit store development agreement with new franchisees, Brian and Sharon Weidendorf, to develop seven restaurants in Duluth, Minnesota, and the surrounding areas. The first restaurant is planned to open in spring 2015.
