  • Fresh & Easy adds four more GreenChill-certified stores

    El Segundo, Calif. -- Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market has added four more GreenChill certified stores this year, including a Gold certified store opening Wednesday in Oceanside, Calif.

    Fresh & Easy opened its first GreenChill certified store in September 2010, and now has a total of eight stores currently certified through the program -- the most of any grocer in the country. Only 45 of the nation’s more than 35,000 grocery stores have received GreenChill Store Certification awards.

  • Grubb & Ellis names senior retail exec

    Walnut Creek, Calif. -- Grubb & Ellis Co. announced that John Sechser has rejoined the company’s Walnut Creek office as senior VP retail group.

    Sechser returns to Grubb & Ellis after spending nearly 12 years with Colliers International, where he was a senior VP and co-director of the company’s Walnut Creek Retail division.
     

  • Bubby’s Brisket opens at Moorestown Mall

    Moorestown, N.J. -- Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT) said that Bubby’s Brisket, a new concept to South Jersey, is now open at Moorestown Mall, located in Moorestown, N.J.

    The 1,017-sq.-ft. eatery is positioned in Moorestown Mall’s Food Court.
     

  • Casto closes sale on second Columbus location for Menards

    Columbus, Ohio -- Casto announced that Menards has purchased 20 acres of land at Columbus Corporate Center, on the east side of Columbus, Ohio.

    According to Menards, construction on its 160,000-sq.-ft. store will commence later this spring. This will be the second Menards location in Columbus. The first location, situated at Northland is scheduled to open this spring.

  • Bone Fish Grill among two new tenants at Chapel Hill Shopping Center

    Middletown, N.J. -- Fameco Real Estate, L.P. said that Bone Fish Grill and Hand & Stone Massage have signed leases at the Chapel Hill Shopping Center, in Middletown, N.J.

    Chapel Hill Shopping Center is a 64,507-sq.-ft. community shopping that was renovated four years ago and is anchored by a 45,000-sq.-ft. Whole Foods supermarket.

    Bone Fish leased a 5,400-sq.-ft. endcap position. The restaurant is expected to open in September. Hand & Stone leased 3,600 sq. ft. of in-line space. The retailer is expected to open in April.

  • Parmida Home opens new store

    Dayton, Ohio -- Parmida Home said Tuesday it will open its fifth retail store in the Greene shopping center, located in Dayton, Ohio, on April 1.

    “We are very excited to grow in the Dayton area,” said Parmida marketing director Siotha Vest.

  • Target to open in landmark Chicago building, to call small-format locations CityTarget

    Minneapolis -- Target Corp. said Tuesday it will open a small-format store in an historic Chicago building constructed in 1899 to house a department store. The national landmark, designed by famed architect Louis Sullivan, was home to the Carson Pirie Scott department store from 1904 to 2007. The retailer also announced that its small-format locations across the United States will be named CityTarget, including the store in Chicago.

  • New restaurant leases signed at Festival at Manchester Lakes

    Franconia, Va. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased restaurant space in Franconia, Va., to two new retailers at Festival at Manchester Lakes.

    Dunkin’ Donuts has leased 1,800 sq. ft., and Genghis Grill, a build-your-own bowl, fast casual, Asian stir-fry concept, has leased 4,443 sq. ft., bringing the center to 95% leased. Both restaurants plan to open this spring.
