  • J.Crew opens at Legacy Place

    Dedham, Mass. -- Chestnut Hill, Mass.-based WS Development said that J. Crew has opened at Legacy Place, located in Dedham, Mass.

    The 6,000-sq.-ft. J.Crew is located near Sephora, Apple, and Williams-Sonoma and adjacent to Brooks Brothers, Johnston & Murphy and Orvis.

    Opened in 2009, Legacy Place is anchored by Whole Foods Market, L.L. Bean, Showcase Cinema de Lux, and Kings.
     

  • Watt completes Alicia Towne Plaza renovation

    Mission Viejo, Calif. -- Watt Commercial Properties said it has completed a $6 million renovation of Alicia Towne Plaza in Mission Viejo, Calif.

    The 19-month redevelopment project included converting an existing Mervyn’s building for L.A. Fitness and updating the façade treatment for the remainder of the 150,000-sq.-ft. property.

  • Marcus & Millichap announces promotion

    Detroit -- Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services said it has promoted Simon Jonna to the position of VP investments.

    Jonna began his career with Marcus & Millichap in May 2005, specializing in the sale of retail properties. Most recently, he held the position of associate VP investments.
     

  • CBRE announces promotions

    Los Angeles -- CB Richard Ellis Group announced the promotion of two executives for its Global Corporate Services business.

    Jim Wilson is being promoted to COO and Ken Loeber is being promoted to global chief sales officer for GCS.

    In his new role, Wilson, a 23-year industry veteran, will be responsible for GCS’s major global service lines (Facilities Management, Project Management and Transaction Management) as well as continuing to have operational responsibility for more than 150 corporate clients across all global regions.

  • Nordstrom, Express announce NYC-area stores

    New York City -- Nordstrom announced Monday that its new Treasure&Bond concept will open in SoHo on Friday, according to a report by the New York Times. The boutique-style store, which represents a new market entry for Nordstrom, will be a fraction of the size of a typical Nordstrom department store and all profits will be donated to charity. Merchandise is funkier, but is not discount like its Nordstrom Rack sister. 

  • Old Navy to unveil 1,000+ in-store Super Fan Nation locations

    New York City -- Gap’s Old Navy unit will roll out more than 1,000 sports-oriented store-within-stores on Tuesday, selling branded goods of more than 70 Division I schools, as well as National Football League teams.

    The Super Fan Nation in-store concepts are being launched with a seven-figure marketing campaign that will include advertising at college stadiums and arenas, in-store appearances by college bands, cheerleaders and mascots, and a 10-day national television advertising campaign.

  • Sur La Table to open NYC flagship in Hearst Tower

    Seattle -- Cooking retailer Sur La Table said Monday it will open a flagship store in Hearst Tower, New York City, in late 2011.

    The chain’s first NYC space opened in SoHo in 2005 and a second store in the Upper East Side opened in 2010.

    The new store will include Sur La Table’s largest kitchen and cooking class program. Customers will be able to take cooking classes, as well as attend events with media partners and renowned chefs from around the world. Cooking classes are currently slated to start in early December.

  • CityTarget in Chicago to feature Pret A Manager

    New York City -- Target announced that the British take-out chain Pret A Manager will open a location in CityTarget in Chicago.

    The new, smaller Target format is set to open in the Windy City in 2012.
