A very unusual type of grocer is expanding

10/13/2016

There is no fancy packaging to be seen on the shelves of Bulk Nation.

The Tampa-based grocer sells mostly unpackaged food, ranging from grains and pasta to spices and beans, all sold by weight, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

Founded in 2012, the fledging retailer has five locations, all in Florida. But it hopes to have nearly 20 stores up and running, according to the report.

"We want to bring the benefits of bulk food shopping to additional customers,” company founder Clay Donato said in the report.
