It’Sugar is set to open its largest location to date at American Dream.
The nation’s largest specialty candy retailer will unveil a “completely unique” concept that will span 22,000 sq. ft. over three levels — making it the world’s largest non-manufacturer candy store — at the 3 million-sq.-ft. retail and entertainment destination, which is set to open in late October, in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Upon entering the store, customers will be greeted by a 60-ft. replica of the Statue of Liberty, made entirely from candy. More than 10,000 choices of candy will be featured, showcasing shops such as Sour Patch Kids, Oreo, Nerds, Reese’s, Peeps, Pez, Starbursts, and more.
“We’ve all heard the expression ‘like a kid in a candy store’ – but this larger-than-life candy experience will exceed all expectations for those who are young and young at heart,” said Don Ghermezian, CEO, American Dream. “This entirely new concept will be a must-see, must-visit and must-taste for all looking to satisfy their sweet tooth.”
It'Sugar, which has more than 100 locations across the country, will be located in the entertainment atrium at American Dream, adjacent to the DreamWorks Water Park entrance and near Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park and the property’s NHL-size ice rink. In May, It’Sugar opened a 6,000-sq.-ft. flagship on the Las Vegas Strip, at the Grand Bazaar Shops,
“This concept has been a dream of mine for over 25 years and our It’Sugar team is thrilled to partner with American Dream to finally make it a reality,” said Jeff Rubin, founder and CEO, It’Sugar. There is nowhere else like American Dream and we look forward to immersing the property’s millions of guests into the world of It’Sugar.”
It’Sugar is one of BBX Capital Corporation’s family of companies. BBX acquired the company for approximately $57 million in 2017.
