Regency breaks ground on Beaches shopping center

11/4/2009

Jacksonville, Fla. Regency Centers announced it has launched development on the first large shopping center to be built in the Beaches area of Neptune Beach, Fla., in 25 years.

The Seminole Shoppes will be anchored by a 54,000-sq.-ft. Publix Super Market slated to open in 2010.

According to Tom Fleming, Regency Centers’ VP investments, Seminole Shoppes will feature approximately 74,000 sq. ft. of retail space for national, regional and local merchants. The company formally acquired the land for the shopping center in July and demolition of existing stores at the center is currently underway.

To support the revitalization of the Beaches area, Regency has committed significant funds to Beaches Habitat for Humanity.
