Paying store rents online reduces paper usage

10/1/2009

Los Angeles Recent reports put tenant- and property-manager paper usage, including 160 million paper rent checks and countless rental application forms, at an estimated 40 million lbs. per year. Los Angeles-based PayYourRent.com has launched a paperless initiative to simplify monthly rent payments and minimize waste.

“The property-management industry is in dire need for smarter, more sustainable solutions,” said Kevin Eberly, founder and CEO.

After signing up for a free account, tenants are able to pay their monthly rent using an electronic check or credit card on the PayYourRent.com Web site, which is accessible from any computer in the world with an Internet connection. Payments are processed immediately to ensure timely rent payment while helping tenants avoid late fees.
