77kids by american eagle pop-up to remain open for spring, permanent stores due in 2010

1/21/2010

Pittsburgh 77kids by american eagle, the children’s brand from American Eagle Outfitters, announced that its pop-up store at The Mall at Robinson, in Pittsburgh, will remain open through April 3, based on positive customer response during the holiday season. Permanent 77kids stores are planned for 2010, the company said.

“The positive customer response to our holiday 77kids pop-up was overwhelming,” said Betsy Schumacher, chief merchandising officer, 77kids by american eagle, a division of American Eagle. “We couldn’t think of a better way to thank our friends in Pittsburgh than to give them another season of great 77kids shopping.”

The store closed for one week to refresh the interior decor and restock with spring merchandise, and is now open for customers.

Completely updated for spring with an infusion of color and energy, the shopping environment still feels deliberately temporary, yet fun and functional, including plywood floors, chalkboard signage throughout, and an eclectic music mix. Chalkboards, free candy and treats help to keep kids occupied while purchases are made.
