QuickChek rewards consumers on the go

QuickChek Corp. is rolling out a mobile scan-based loyalty program.

The Northeast convenience chain, which operates 160 stores throughout New Jersey, New York’s Hudson Valley and Long Island, has built its new QuickChek Rewards loyalty program on the Paytronix digital customer experience platform.

Available through the retailer’s Paytronix-powered QC mobile app which went live early in 2020, QuickChek Rewards enables customers to earn perks on food and beverages every time they visit a store, by scanning a barcode in their mobile app during checkout.

Shoppers can also earn free items like birthday rewards and monthly fountain drinks or candy bars when they enroll, and additional visits unlock bonus rewards. According to QuickChek, in the first week, more than 1,000 loyalty program members visited at least five times, elevating them immediately to the second tier.

Paytronix integrated QuickChek Rewards with the retailer’s existing order-and-delivery platform, mobile app, and POS system. In addition to increasing visits, QuickChek says the new loyalty program has also boosted spend.

“We are learning a tremendous amount about our own customers, including things we weren’t even aware that we didn’t know,” said Eric Rush, QuickChek’s digital marketing and advertising manager. “QuickChek Rewards is helping with our goal to understand what is meaningful to our customers in their daily lives. With the information we’re learning, we can provide members with tailored rewards that make for a better shopping experience.”

In addition, QuickChek has introduced an ambassador program for its 5,000 store associates which includes partnership initiatives with the retailer’s CPG suppliers.
