Publix Super Markets has opened the eighth location of its GreenWise Market specialty natural and organic foods banner.
The 27,758-sq.-ft. store is located in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on the ground floor of The Main Las Olas building. It’s the first GreenWise Market in a multi-use high-rise. It’s also the sixth GreenWise in the state of Florida.
“We took all of the things our customers love about GreenWise Market and put them in a centralized downtown location,” said Publix president Kevin Murphy. “We look forward to sharing our unique atmosphere and products with our customers who live and work in this busy urban neighborhood.”
GreenWise Market is a specialty, natural and organic store with a large selection of prepared foods made from organic and antibiotic-free ingredients. Foodies can find in-store smoked meats, in-house made sausages, burrito bowls and specialty charcuterie options.
The stores are divided into “experience zones,” with names that include:
• CARES — vitamins, nutritional supplements, natural soaps and shampoos, and more;
• CUTS — meats raised with no antibiotics or added hormones and sustainably-sourced seafood;
• EATS — made-to-order meals and grab and go foods like handcrafted gourmet sandwiches and freshly baked pizza;
• FINDS — a curated selection of wines and imported cheeses; and
• POURS — a beverage area featuring locally roasted coffee along with wine and beer on tap;
Publix operates more than 1,200 grocery stores throughout seven states in the Southeast.
