Primark currently operates 17 U.S. stores.
Primark is adding another state to its U.S. footprint.
The value-priced fashion and home goods retailer, which is owned by Associated British Foods, will open a store at Arundel Mills in Hanover, Md., which will be the first Primark location in the state. The 36,000-sq.-ft. store will open its doors this summer.
With 17 stores across seven states, Primark has been ramping up its U.S. expansion. In addition to Arundel Mills, the company has three other stores set to open this summer, including a location at Green Acres Mall, Valley Stream, N.Y., on June 22. It will also open at The Mills at Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth, N.J., on July 6, and at Crossgates Mall in Albany, N.Y., on July 20.
To support its growth, Primark has hired Tanesha Carter as head of talent acquisition. She previously was with Ikea Group, where she held various roles in human resources.
“With our expansion in the US well underway, it was critical to have the right leader in place to build our store teams," said John Hadeed, VP people & culture, US. "I'm thrilled to welcome Tanesha to Primark and support her as we expand into new cities and states all over the country.”
Primark has more 400 stores globally and continues to expand across new and existing markets, with the aim of reaching 530 stores by the end of 2026, including the upcoming new market of Hungary.
