An upscale Chicagoland shopping center is welcoming a host of new tenants.

Plaza del Lago, a 100,000-sq.-ft. open-air center located on Lake Michigan in Wilmette, Ill., has announced 13 tenants as part of an ongoing redevelopment project. The center’s mix will now include local and national brands, including several that are firsts in the Midwest.

“These brands intentionally span the spectrum – a mixture of locals and nationals, soft goods and services, at different price points with one common element – they are each best in class,” said Samantha David, president of WS Development, which purchased the center in 2022.

Plaza del Lago’s new tenants include the following:

  • Oscar de la Renta: One of the world’s leading luxury goods companies, this opening marks the Oscar de la Renta’s first boutique location in the Chicago area and in the Midwest.
  • Space 519: A local brand, the new 6,000-sq.-ft. store will feature a carefully selected range of fashion, beauty, and home collections, alongside three food concepts: a sit-down restaurant, a grab-and-go cafe, and a European style cafe.
  • Cynthia Rowley: The “surf leisure” brand’s first Chicago and Midwest store will feature collections of ready-to-wear, surf and swim, snow, accessories, and home décor products.
  • Hill House Home: The digitally-native brand’s first Chicago area store will offer Plaza del Lago shoppers swim, accessories and sleepwear, while growing their home offerings across bedding, bath, and baby.
  • James Perse: The Los Angeles-based brand’s first Chicago-area store offers casual clothing inspired by “West Coast indoor and outdoor living.”
  • Jenni Kayne: Rooted in “California minimalism,” Jenni Kayne's newest store at Plaza del Lago will offer its full range of products across apparel, accessories, home, and apothecary. The store will also offer the brand’s signature skincare line, Oak Essentials.
