PepsiCo complements retail sales with DTC sites

A global CPG giant is entering the e-commerce vertical as online demand for food and beverage products grows during the COVID-19 pandemic.

PepsiCo Inc. is launching PantryShop.com and Snacks.com, two direct-to-consumer websites where shoppers can order an assortment of food and beverage bundles and goods. The sites are accessible through a seamless, mobile-optimized ordering experience that enables checkout within a couple of clicks.

On PantryShop.com, consumers can order specialized bundles containing PepsiCo's top-selling pantry items from brands like Quaker, Gatorade, SunChips and Tropicana. Bundle categories include "Rise & Shine," "Snacking," and "Workout & Recovery." PepsiCo has curated the pantry kits based on affinity research and meeting the needs of COVID-19 “new normal” such as working and exercising from home and homeschooling. The multi-product pantry kits are priced at $29.95 and $49.95. 

On Snacks.com, consumers can choose from more than 100 Frito-Lay products from a variety of brands like Lay's, Tostitos, Cheetos and Ruffles, as well as dips, crackers, and nuts. PepsiCo will continue to add new items will continue to be added in the coming months as the site is customized to meet consumer preferences. As an introductory offer, shoppers will receive free shipping with a purchase of $15 or more.

PepsiCo developed PantryShop.com and Snacks.com in-house from concept to execution in less than 30 days. In addition to buying for themselves, consumers can ship products as gifts to friends and family via both platforms, and the company says the majority of orders on PantryShop.com and Snacks.com will arrive within two business days.
