Pandora is removing the risk of purchasing a gift online and discovering it misses the mark.
The Copenhagen-based jewelry retailer is leveraging the artificial intelligence (AI)-based gift experience platform from SmartGift. Customers can select an item to send as a gift and give the recipient the chance to virtually “unwrap” their gift via text, email, or any other digital platform.
Then the recipient can decide if it is the perfect gift. If not, he or she can swap for a same-priced item or alter the gift's size, color or style. Once the recipient is happy with their choice, the shopper completes the purchase and not until that point will they be charged.
"Being able to support and connect with our customers through digital activations is crucial during these uncertain times,” said David Walmsley, global chief digital officer at Pandora Jewelry. “We want to make the shopping experience as seamless as possible, which is why we are launching SmartGift, a service that allows our customers to easily shop for their loved ones online. With Mother's Day fast approaching and being such an important holiday for Pandora, we hope SmartGift provides shoppers with a convenient way to show their appreciation for their moms, especially if they aren't able to physically be with them."
