New York – Front-running Republican presidential contender Donald Trump continued his war of words with Macy’s Inc. during a Sunday morning interview on the CBS program, "Face the Nation."
Trump singled out Macy’s as an example of companies where the CEO places their friends on the board and receives inappropriately high pay.
"It's disgraceful,” said Trump. “Sometimes the boards rule but I would probably say it's less than 10%; and you see these guys [CEOs] making enormous amounts of money. It's a total and complete joke. You'll take a company like, I could say Macy's or I could say many other companies, where they put in their friends as the head of the company and they get whatever they want.”
Macy’s stopped selling branded Donald J. Trump merchandise in July following the candidate’s controversial remarks about Mexican immigrants bringing “drugs and crime” to the U.S. Trump responded with several critical comments and tweets, and even called for a boycott of Macy’s.
Macy’s has not yet publicly replied to his latest comments.
