Ryan to retire from Build-A-Bear board

St. Louis Build-A-Bear Workshop said Tuesday that board member Joan Ryan notified the board that she intends to retire, according to a report by the St. Louis Business Journal.

The retailer said it’s anticipated that Ryan will continue to serve until the company’s annual meeting in May 2010, when her current three-year term expires.

She joined Build-A-Bear’s board in 2006 and currently serves as a member of the Audit Committee and the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.

Ryan is formerly senior VP of Walt Disney Theme Parks and Resorts.
