Michaels’ holiday hires nearly flat with last year
The Michaels Companies has come out of the gate early with its holiday hiring plans.
The arts-and-crafts retailer said it will hire approximately 15,000 seasonal positions across its U.S. and Canada stores and distribution centers in preparation for the 2019 holiday season. The company will host a national seasonal hiring event in more than 1,250 stores across the country on Saturday, September 7, 2019.
Last year, the company said it would hire "more than" 15,000 seasonal employees, with more than 40% of the seasonal in-store positions turning into regular roles following the holidays. This includes more than 30% of its distribution center seasonal team members and more than 40% of its digital platform Artistree’s seasonal staff.
Michaels owns and operates more than 1,250 stores in 49 states and Canada, long with a variety of digital platforms.
