Macy’s to increase temporary hires for holiday season
New York City Macy’s on Thursday said it would make a "slight increase" in hiring during the holiday season because of an expected rise of 3% to 3.5% in same-store sales in the second half of fiscal 2010.
Macy's plans to hire approximately 65,000 seasonal associates in its stores, call centers, distribution centers and online fulfillment facilities for the holiday season.
The workers will add to the retailer's contingent of 161,000 associates on a year-round basis.
