Lowe's goes on seasonal hiring spree

1/14/2016

Temperatures might be at a bitter low across the country, but it's that time again for big-box home improvement stores.

Lowe's announced today that it's getting ready to hire 46,000 seasonal employees to help with the busy spring and summer season.

"To help customers during our peak season, Lowe's is hiring about 6,000 more seasonal employees than last year," said Scott Purvis, Lowe's VP human resources operations. "Seasonal positions offer flexible work hours, a 10% employee discount and often can be an entry point for regular part-time or full-time employment."

Seasonal employees, who most typically fill positions like cashiers, lawn and garden associates, stockers, loaders and assemblers of outdoor products like grills, wheelbarrows and tractors, are in highest demand between February and September.
