Instacart and Office Depot will offer same-day delivery from more than 1,000 Office Depot and OfficeMax stores across the U.S.

Office Depot is partnering with another major third-party delivery platform.

The specialty office supply retailer is now partnering with online delivery provider Instacart to offer same-day delivery from more than 1,000 Office Depot and OfficeMax stores across the U.S. This partnership is launching about a week after Office Depot began offering same-day delivery from 1,000 stores via a similar collaboration with DoorDash.

Through Office Depot’s partnership with Instacart, customers can order from a selection of office and school supplies, including printer and ink supplies, computers and electronics, notebooks, and desk organizers. Items can be delivered from the store to the customer’s home in as fast as one hour.

To shop from Instacart for same-day delivery of Office Depot products, customers can visit the dedicated Office Depot storefront on the Instacart website or mobile app. For all orders, an Instacart shopper will pick and deliver the order within the customer’s chosen delivery timeframe.

In addition to recently teaming up with DoorDash, Office Depot has been steadily increasing its omnichannel fulfillment capabilities, both internally and via third-party partnerships, in recent years. Since April 2020, Office Depot and OfficeMax stores have also been offering same-day delivery via the third-party Shipt and Deliv platforms in as little as one hour on qualifying orders.

Office Depot also recently began offering a new in-store and curbside pickup service called “20 Minute Pickup Promise.” Having been introduced in late 2021 in time for the holiday season, customers can now use the new service by placing a qualifying order online via the Office Depot e-commerce site or mobile app and selecting “In-Store or Curbside Pickup” at checkout at least one hour before the store’s closing time.

“We’re excited to team up with Instacart to provide customers with an additional on-demand delivery option to help them get the products they need to thrive at work, home and school,” said Jamie Columbus, VP of e-commerce for Office Depot. “With solutions that help to promote well-being and productivity, encourage collaboration and maximize productivity from anywhere, we’re committed to helping small business owners, home office professionals, students and teachers find what they need with quick shopping and delivery options that are most convenient for them.”

“As workplaces across the country continue to embrace remote work, we’re proud to partner with Office Depot to unlock same-day delivery of office and school supplies for more households around the country,” said Chris Rogers, VP of retail at Instacart. “We’re focused on expanding the selection available on the Instacart marketplace for customers, and the addition of another leading office supplies retailer like Office Depot helps take that one step further. Whether shopping for printer ink, mailing supplies, folders, sticky notes, we’re continuing to offer customers a seamless shopping experience that helps them create a more productive home workspace.”

Office Depot LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The ODP Corp., a provider of business services and supplies, products and digital workplace technology solutions to small, medium and enterprise businesses, through an integrated business-to-business distribution platform and approximately 1,100 stores.
