Three leading retailers will discuss the importance of cooperation in modern cybersecurity efforts at the National Retail Federation’s upcoming annual conference, NRF 2020 Vision: Retail’s Big Show.

Although retailers naturally compete with one another for customers’ time and attention, the dangers posed by today’s exceptionally advanced and organized cybercriminals necessitate them to put their competition aside. Instead, retail chains need to fully collaborate in the greater service of protecting consumer information.

A panel of C-level executives from Target Corp., Starbucks Corp., and Best Buy Co. will discuss the importance of strong cybersecurity collaboration in the session “Stronger together: The power of cybersecurity industry collaboration,” Monday, Jan. 13 at noon. Rich Agostino, senior VP and chief information security officer (CISO) of Target, will talk about Target’s journey to build an industry-leading program, train the next generation of cybersecurity leaders, and stay ahead of the latest threats.

Agostino will also be joined by Dave Estlick, CISO of Starbucks, and Adam Mishler, VP and CISO of Best Buy, to discuss the importance of rival retailers coming together to collaborate on cybersecurity and how doing so can help defeat even the most skilled and determined cybercriminals.
