Nordstrom is facing a departure in its C-suite.

Edmond Mesrobian, Nordstrom’s chief technology and information officer, is departing the company Oct. 14. His departure was revealed in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

Mesrobian has been heading up technology at Nordstrom since August 2018. Prior to that, he was with U.K. grocery giant Tesco. Before Tesco, he spearheaded operational and technical innovations as CTO of global travel company Expedia, including online travel brands, Expedia.com, Hotels.com, and Hotwire.com.

“We’re grateful to Edmond for his leadership and many contributions to our business, employees and customers,” Erik Nordstrom, CEO, said in a letter to employees on Wednesday, reported Women’s Wear Daily. He added that Mesrobian led improvements in Nordstrom’s technology, date and product capabilities.

“It’s clear that we’re in a much better place today than we were before he arrived,” Nordstrom wrote. “He has been a key contributor in building the architecture, infrastructure and resiliency needed for us to be a digital-first company and realize our Closer to You strategy.”
