McDonald’s has introduced on-demand delivery in New York City and the tri-state area.

McDonald’s USA is partnering with to expand the McDonald’s McDelivery online and mobile delivery service to approximately 500 restaurants in the New York City and tri-state area. McDelivery is now available on the Grubhub marketplace and Grubhub’s New York-based Seamless platform.

The Grubhub and McDonald's partnership includes a direct POS integration with Grubhub's "Just in Time" technology, which streamlines the matching of order fulfillment with driver pickup.

"At McDonald's, we are committed to finding innovative ways to best serve our customers, whether that be in-restaurant or in the comfort of their homes. Through this partnership with Grubhub, we are thrilled to create more options for them to enjoy their favorite McDonald's menu items via McDelivery," said Katie Hunt-Rotolo, McDonald's owner/operator and president of the New York Tri-state Owner/Operators Association. "We're pleased to see the excitement our customers have shown for McDelivery being available on Grubhub and Seamless across New York and the Tri-state area, and we're proud to offer them new levels of choice and convenience."

To celebrate the launch, on each Monday throughout 2019, Grubhub will offer $5 off for the first 1,000 McDonald’s customers who redeem a Twitter promotion posted that morning on the Grubhub Twitter account. Additionally, for a limited time, Grubhub and Seamless customers will receive a $0 delivery fee on their McDelivery orders.

"Giving our diners the best restaurant options and more of their favorites is a top priority, and adding McDonald's to that list is an exciting moment," said Seth Priebatsch, head of enterprise at Grubhub. "In less than 60 days, we've been able to integrate, pilot, and launch our availability to millions throughout New York and other markets, making the dream of McDelivery even more of a reality."

Launched in partnership with UberEats in 2017, McDelivery is available in more than 10,000 restaurants across all 50 states, including locations in small- and mid-sized cities. McDonald’s expects McDelivery to be a $4 billion business for both corporate and franchise restaurants globally in 2019. The fast-food giant expanded McDelivery by adding DoorDash as a delivery partner at thousands of stores nationwide in August 2019.
