    LOS ANGELES — Sears is targeting young women with a new career-focused apparel line called Metaphor. The apparel collection, which is scheduled to hit stores in August, will include jackets, trousers, shirts and dresses at reasonable price points, according to the company. The line will be complemented by fashion footwear and jewelry.

    Dallas -- Grocery chain C&K Market Inc. said it has deployed Connected Payments from Retalix, rolling out the cloud-based, software-as-a-service payments system across its 61 Ray's Food Place, Ray's Shop Mart and C&K Market banners. The grocer also uses Retalix POS software across its enterprise.

    Emeryville, Calif. -- Coffee retailer Peet's Coffee & Tea said it is being taken private for approximately $977.6 million.
     
    German conglomerate Joh. A. Benckiser – a minority stakeholder in an international coffee and tea company D.E. Master Blenders 1753 – will reportedly pay a premium $73.50 per share, putting the deal’s total value at nearly $1 billion.

    Wet Seal fired chief executive Susan McGalla on Monday, citing downward spiraling sales during her 11-month tenure. Clinton Group then ramped up its insistence that Wet Seal put itself up for sale.
