    Fremont, Calif. - ProSent Mobile is unveiling StyleChat, the company’s new visual-chat mobile app for fashion and style. StyleChat enables consumers to come together from anywhere to find fashion items, including online, in-store, or an existing closet, create looks on the digital style board, style collections, and visually chat with friends.

  • Report: Jos. A. Bank may consider hostile bid for Men’s Wearhouse

    Hampstead, Md. – Jos. A. Bank Clothiers Inc. reportedly may consider a hostile takeover bid for Men’s Wearhouse. According to Bloomberg, Jos. A. Bank chairman Robet Wildrick said he would prefer a friendly acquisition but his company is not ruling any options out.

  • Supervalu beats street with Q2 results

    Minneapolis – Supervalu Inc. beat Wall Street estimates with second quarter fiscal 2014 net earnings of $40 million, compared to a $111 million loss in the year-ago period.

    The supermarket operator reported net sales of $3.95 billion, up 0.2% from $3.94 billion last year.

    Same-store sales results varied by banner. Same-store sales in the Save-A-Lot network were negative 0.3, while same-store sales for corporate stores within the Save-A-Lot network were positive 4.6% and were negative 0.9% in the Retail Food segment.

  • Made in U.S.A. update on tap

    Michelle Gloeckler, SVP of Home at Walmart and head of the retailer’s domestic manufacturing initiative is scheduled to give an update on the program, its progress and inner workings in Bentonville next month.

    Gloecker was recently confirmed as a speaker at an event organized by the Bentonville Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce for the organization’s Walstreet membership group which consists of Walmart suppliers and service provider companies. Gloecker is scheduled to speak on Thursday, November 14.

  • Néstle’s Super Bowl ad to feature new Butterfinger cups

    NEW YORK — Néstle plans to launch a cup version of its popular Butterfinger candy bar next year, and will introduce the Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups in a Super Bowl commercial.

    The company calls it one of its biggest candy launches and said it will be the first time it showcases one of its brands during the big game.

  • Kroger confirms new leadership

    Kroger has named Michael L. Ellis as the company’s president and chief operating officer, effective Jan. 1, 2014, completing the succession plan announced in September. The company expects its board of directors to elect Ellis at the next board meeting in Dec.
