Winn-Dixie brings 'transformational' format to North Florida
ST. JOHNS, Fla. — Just one week after opening a remodeled store in Apopka, Fla., Winn-Dixie has opened another reformatted store in St. Johns, making it the company's first overhauled location in the North Florida area.
The renovated Winn-Dixie features an expanded grocery department, as well as a deli serving restaurant-quality entrees and side dishes, the retailer said.
The “transformational” remodeled Winn-Dixie store is the first in North Florida and fifth overall, Winn-Dixie noted, adding that the company plans to open 17 stores with similar formats in the coming year. Each store will cost about $5.5 million.
“This store exemplifies our commitment to the fast-growing northwest St. Johns County area and serves as a one-stop grocery destination catering to the needs, tastes and preferences of the surrounding community,” Winn-Dixie regional VP Dan Lafever said. “We are excited to deliver on our promise of providing our guests with a fresh, new shopping experience that is fun and imaginative.”
