Walmart exec joins signage board

1/24/2013

James Cordero, senior director of Walmart’s Smart Network, is among four new appointees to the advisory board of the Digital Signage Expo.

In addition to Cordero, others joining the board included Todd Eastman, interactive technology lead at Target, Stacy Milligan, manager of in-store digital media for MetroPCS and Steve Hargis, director of film and video for Bass Pro Shops. With the addition of these four executives, the Digital Signage Expo (DSE) board increases to more than 50 members as the trade group prepares to hold its 10th annual convention February 26-28 in Las Vegas. The event is billed as the world’s largest and longest running event dedicated to digital signage, interactive technology and digital out-of-home networks with more than 180 companies expected to exhibit this year.

"We are privileged to present a board that is comprised of so many highly talented people, all of whom have generously committed to lend their voices to an industry-wide educational effort designed to help raise the level of professionalism and positively impact commerce for everyone who does business with the (digital signage) sector," said Richard Lebovitz, educational director for Exponation, LLC, producers of the DSE show.

The addition of representatives from Walmart, Target and Bass Pro dramatically increased retail representation on a board which also includes representatives from industries such as advertising, banking and finances, education, entertainment, government, health care, hospitality, food service, public venues and transportation.
