Walgreens returns to Times Square
DEERFIELD, Ill. Walgreens is returning to New York's Times Square with flashy signage and a two-level store, according to reports.
Walgreens, which operated in Times Square during the Depression, but lost its recognition in New York following the closing of the store in the 1970s, will open a 27,000 square-foot store with a 17,000 square-foot digital banner that will cover three sides of the 25-story building and extend the height of the store. Walgreens said this will make it the largest video screen in the area, according to reports.
