Walgreens reports sales spike in October

Deerfield, Ill. Walgreens said Tuesday that sales for October increased 9.4%, to approximately $5.7 million from about $5.2 million in the year-ago period.

Comp-store sales increased 4.9% overall, while front-end comps increased 4.7%.

Walgreens opened 69 stores during October, including eight relocations.
