The run-up to California’s hands-free driving law that went into effect July 1 generated a big increase in sales of Bluetooth headsets (pictured) in the state.
An NPD Group study showed California had the top four markets in Bluetooth sales-per-store from April through June. San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles and San Diego generated the highest sales, with San Francisco retailers selling three times the national average of Bluetooth devices in May and four times the average in June.
