Tractor Supply to back farm safety program
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. Tractor Supply Company announced today that it has become a major sponsor of the Progressive Agriculture Foundation’s Safety Day education program. According to Tractor Supply its contribution will mainly be used to produce a video version of a typical Safety Day program.
Tractor Supply said that RFD-TV, a cable and satellite-based network that reaches approximately 31 million homes primarily in rural areas, has agreed to air the video as a public service. In addition, a portion of the sponsorship will be used to fund Safety Day events in communities where Tractor Supply is opening new stores.
The Foundation’s mission is to help protect children in rural communities by holding Safety Day events, designed to teach children and young adults about things such as farm equipment safety. More recently, topics such as healthy eating and drug education have been added.
“Most of our customers live in rural areas, and whether they live on a farm or not, their children are likely to come in contact with things like tractors, livestock, and ATVs,” said Blake Fohl, Tractor Supply’s senior vp of marketing. “This program is a great one for us to be involved with because it lets our customers know we really care about the communities where we do business.”
