Target matches pre-order book prices

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. Target.com announced it is offering pre-orders of this season’s most anticipated books at $8.99, matching recent Wal-Mart.com and Amazon.com price cuts. In addition, the discounted pre-order books will qualify for free site-to-home shipping.

“By offering new releases by favorite authors at competitive prices, we’re able to make the shopping experience easier and more affordable for our guests,” said Steve Eastman, president, Target.com.

The $8.99 price applies to pre-orders on Target.com of select books, including “Breathless” by Dean Koontz, “Ford County” by John Grisham, “I, Alex Cross” by James Patterson, “Ice” by Linda Howard, “Kindred in Death” by J.D. Robb, “Pirate Latitudes” by Michael Crichton and “Under the Dome” by Stephen King
