Survey: Consumers to pay for holiday purchases with cash

Silver Spring, Md. More consumers intend to shop with cash this holiday season, according to a survey conducted by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC). In fact, about 68% plan to use cash over credit.

Meanwhile, about 12% of consumers said they plan to pay their bill in full when it arrives, while 10% said they will pay their bill over time, NFCC’s 2009 Financial Literacy Survey revealed. About 10% will utilize lay-away programs.
