Study names B&N as leading bookseller

6/19/2007

NEW YORK Barnes & Noble has been named the Unites States' top bookselling brand for the fourth consecutive year. According to the 2007 EquiTrend Brand Study conducted by Harris Interactive, Barnes & Noble is the leading bookstore in overall brand equity, which is determined by a brand's overall strength based on its combination of familiarity, quality, and purchase intent. The study is based on individual responses from more than 27,000 U.S. consumers.

"The Barnes & Noble brand has become synonymous with quality and excellence in bookselling," said Steve Riggio, ceo of Barnes & Noble. "People consider Barnes & Noble the ultimate destination for all their literary needs, from browsing and shopping for books to meeting their favorite authors at one of our many in-store events."
