Store closes for remodeling

7/12/2010

Retailers typically like to leave stores open during remodeling projects, but Target is taking the unusual step of closing a store in California for five days to complete a P-fresh remodel, according to the Orange County Register. The store, located at 2300 Park Ave. in Tustin, is a test of sorts to better understand the impact on sales and customers when a store is closed temporarily for remodeling versus remaining open for three months while remodeling crews attempt to work while minimizing disruptions. The newspaper said the store in Tustin was chosen because there are other Target stores nearby that customers could shop at while their preferred store undergoes changes.
