Sportsman's Warehouse offers military discount

Sportsman’s Warehouse will honor those serving in the U.S. military and public safety occupations with a special promotion.

On Military and Public Safety Appreciation Day, Jan. 24, 2015, the stores will offer discounts of up to 20%. Firearms, ammunition, optics and electronics will be offered with a 10% discount.

"We are proud to recognize the dedication and commitment of those who serve both home and abroad to keep all of us safe," said Sportsman's Warehouse Chief Marketing Officer Karen Seaman. "All of us at Sportsman's Warehouse understand and appreciate the sacrifices made and the invaluable service provided by these dedicated individuals. We look forward to thanking them personally at our retail locations."

Sportsman’s Warehouse went public in 2014 and during the first nine months of the year opened eight new stores even as it bucks deteriorating demand for firearms. Same store sales at the company declined 9.5% through the first nine months of the year as a result of the decline in demand for guns and ammunition. That trend is expected to continue in the fourth quarter with comps forecast to decline 3% to 6%.
