SED International hires CE vet

TUCKER, , Ga. SED International, a leading distributor of IT, CE, and cellular products, has hired consumer electronics industry veteran, Tom Roper. He takes over the newly created position of director and general merchandising manager of CE purchasing.

Tom has spent 30 years in the electronics and appliance business, most recently as senior vp of merchandising and marketing at DSI, a national distributor of CE, appliances and satellite products. Previously, he was a key electronics and appliance merchant at Home Shopping Network, Officemax, and Roberds. He started his career at Rich's Department store where he spent 17 years as a buyer and a divisional merchandise manager.
