Sears, Kenmore partner for green project

NEW YORK Sears is teaming up with Kenmore and the Jane Goodall Institute's Roots & Shoots program to help consumers attain greener homes without sacrificing appliance performance. As part of the initiative, $25 will be donated to the Roots & Shoots Program for every Kenmore Elite dishwasher with Ultra WashHE technology sold between Oct. 28 and Nov. 7.

"Consumers understand that small changes made in their homes can have a significant impact on the environment," said Tina Settecase, vp and general manager of home appliances for Sears Holdings Corp. ""By collaborating with Roots & Shoots and continuing to develop innovative, high efficiency products that exceed ENERGY STAR standards, we can better help homeowners do their part for the environment, while still delivering the function and simplicity expected of the Kenmore name."
