Saks Off 5th continuing Canadian expansion

Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th is making progress in its plans to open up to 25 locations across Canada by 2018.


The retailer announced three new locations in Canada: Toronto Premium Outlets, Halton Hills, Ontario; Rideau Street, Ottawa, Ontario; and Premium Outlets Montreal, Mirabel, Quebec City.


Saks previously announced planned store openings at Tanger Outlets in Ottawa; Vaughan Mills in Toronto; and Outlet Collection at Niagara at Niagara-on-the-lake, all slated to open spring 2016, as well as CrossIron Mills in Calgary, scheduled to open fall 2016.



“These new stores are situated in successful retail locations and we are eager to introduce Canadians to the Saks OFF 5TH brand when we launch in 2016,” commented Jonathan Greller, president of Outlets, HBC, parent company of Saks Fifth Avenue.


Saks is transforming the Hudson’s Bay Outlet store at Toronto Premium Outlets into Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th. The 25,000-sq.-ft. store is scheduled to open spring 2016.


The new Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th in Ottawa will be located within Hudson’s Bay’s flagship at 72 Rideau Street, scheduled to open in fall 2016. The existing Hudson’s Bay store is currently undergoing extensive renovations, adding new visuals, flooring, and natural light. Saks Off 5th will utilize 33,000 sq.ft. of the current footprint.

The conversion of Hudson’s Bay Outlet store at Premium Outlets Montreal will mark Saks Off 5th’s debut in Québec. The 26,000 –sq.-ft. stand-alone location will anchor the center.
