Ross same-store sales up 3% in March

Pleasanton, Calif. Ross Stores said its same-store sales rose 3% in March, better than Wall Street expectations.

Overall sales for the five-week period that ended April 4 rose 8%, to $682 million.

So far this quarter, the company said net sales are up 8%, to $1.16 billion. Meanwhile, overall same-store sales are up 2% compared with last year.
