Report: Jeffries left Abercrombie with $27 million

4/24/2015

New Albany, Ohio – Michael Jeffries, former CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch Co., reportedly did not walk away empty-handed when he retired from the company in December 2014. According to the Columbus Business Journal, Jeffries obtained at least $27 million in cash and other benefits.

Jeffries’ retirement plan was worth $19.33 million. He is credited with inventing Abercrombie’s modern brand image, and also stirred up controversy during a 2006 interview with Salon.com when he stated the retailer targeted “cool kids” and was “exclusionary” with its clothes. Those comments received additional widespread publicity in 2013.
