Report: Bigg’s fuel program awards more than $1M in perks
Milford, Ohio In its effort to ease pain at the pump, grocer bigg’s continues to award shoppers with fuel discounts through its Pump Perks program -- a service that has helped the chain give away more than $1 million in gasoline over the last four months, according to a report on Cincinati.com.
Besides earning 1 cent off the price of a gallon of gasoline for every $10 spent at a bigg's store, bigg’s also promotes special items in-store that can award Pump Perks members with between 1 cent and 15 cent discounts toward gasoline. These points can be accrued over multiple shopping trips.
While the 11-store chain, a division of Supervalu, did not reveal revenues that the fuel program has delivered, bigg’s continues to make money on the increased volume of merchandise it sells.
