Report: Is Amazon faster than a Jet?

Hoboken, N.J. – Early results indicate Amazon.com may be getting beaten by upstart e-commerce rival Jet.com on price, but Amazon is still outdoing the new kid on the online retail block in one key area. According to data from cloud services provider Instart Logic, the Jet.com homepage takes 25% longer to load than Amazon’s homepage.



Instart Logic analysis indicates that while Amazon’s homepage takes 0.89 seconds to load, Jet’s homepage takes 1.11 seconds. Even that small a difference in page load time could provide a crucial competitive edge for Amazon, as how quickly pages load is a key factor in online customer satisfaction. Costco also has a faster homepage than Jet, with an average 0.93 second load time.
