RadioShack launches contest to promote electronics recycling

4/14/2011

FORT WORTH, Texas -- RadioShack announced that it is giving customers the chance to win the new eco-friendly Nissan Leaf simply by trading in their used electronics devices.

From April 17 to 23, customers can bring in eligible working products and accessories into any participating RadioShack store and enter to win a Nissan LEAF, the only 100% electric, zero-emissions vehicle available in the mass market.

"The Shack not only makes it easier than ever to recycle old electronics, but we offer an appraisal of value, which can provide credit toward purchasing the latest and greatest technology," said Scott Young, executive vice president and chief merchandise officer for RadioShack Corporation. "With RadioShack locations nationwide, we are trying to make it convenient and rewarding for customers to trade in their old electronics, rather than putting them into the trash and eventually landfills."

Customers can also enter the sweepstakes online at www.RadioShack.com/LEAF. The drawing will take place on April 27.
