Portable devices top list of most-desired CE items

WASHINGTON Notebooks or laptop PCs top the list of most desired consumer electronics this year, according to the 16th annual holiday study from the Consumer Electronics Association.

Portable mp3 or digital media players came in second on the list, followed by flat panel TVs and video game systems.

Overall, the CEA found spending on consumer electronics will be up 8% this year, with more than four out of five adults planning to buy a consumer electronic this holiday season.
